In short, it is someone who provides supports and services to people with disabilities.

But what does a DSP really do?

A DSP spends their days with extremely talented and amazing people. DSPs spend their night’s laughing, having fun, teaching skills and abilities through coaching and role modeling, playing card games, playing music, and trying new adventures. Not only that, but a DSP also has the privilege of being asked to be a voice to advocate for the needs of those who don’t always have the voice or the power to do so.

If this sounds like something you are looking for, Mains’l is currently hiring Direct Support Professionals to work either one-on-one or with groups of people in their homes. Mains’l offers insurance benefits (30+ hours a week) and a fun work environment. We work with you to find the right fit so you are enjoying the work you do with others and you get paid to do it too!

Hourly Wage: $17.00 per hour, $17.255 upon completion of 90 days and training!

Other Job duties include:

• Collaborating with the person you work with and your co-workers to problem solve and create a positive and inclusive culture.
• Clear and accurate documentation
• Providing assistance or support with activities of daily living in the person’s home and their community based on the needs and preferences of the person you work with.
  • This may include transportation, personal cares, cooking, cleaning, medication administration, support of positive behavior and working through difficult situations in ways that lead to positive outcomes.
• Supporting others to realize their hopes and dreams.
• Having fun!

Requirements:

• At least 18 years of age
• Valid CA Drivers’ license
• Reliable transportation with valid insurance coverage
• Ability to pass a background check through the Department of Justice
