Payroll and Accounts Payable Administrator

Mains’l Solutions is seeking a Payroll and Accounts Payable Administrator to become a vital part of our accounting department and Solutions team. As the Payroll and AP Administrator you will process payroll for our Solutions Team members, manage accounts payable and assist with various day-to-day accounting functions. You’ll help ensure accuracy and compliance in financial transactions while supporting timely month-end and year-end closing processes.

Position Information:
This is a full time exempt, salaried position. Standard working hours with occasional time spent in our Brooklyn Park, MN Office.

Salary: $57,106.4- 62,634/year

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll:
  • Process biweekly/monthly payroll for all Mains’l Solutions employees accurately and on time.
  • Maintain employee payroll records, including new hire setup, changes, and terminations.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
  • Handle payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare and reconcile payroll reports as needed (e.g., taxes, benefits, garnishments).

Accounts Payable:
  • Review and verify invoices and check requests.
  • Sort, code, and match invoices to purchase orders or expense reports.
  • Enter invoices into accounting software and schedule payments.
  • Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain vendor files and ensure W-9 and 1099 documentation is up to date.

Support Finance Team:
  • Perform administrative tasks related to accounting, including filing and maintaining records.
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned by management.
  • Cross train with other finance team members in order support critical functions

Qualifications:
  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 1 year of Payroll experience required, out of state payroll experience preferred
  • 2+ years of  accounts payable experience, preferred.
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite, etc.).
  • Strong Excel skills and familiarity with other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of payroll laws and accounting principles.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with sensitive information.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
