As an Associate Director of Supported Living Services at Mains’l, you will help bring our Vision – ‘A world where people live with meaning and purpose’ to life by leading our Mission and Values through Person-Centered Practices, supporting individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.

We are hiring an experienced leader to direct the development and delivery of individualized, high-quality services that promote autonomy, inclusion, and measurable outcomes. This position is responsible for staff leadership, regulatory compliance, and continuous program innovation to meet the evolving needs of the people we support. The ideal candidate will drive operational excellence, foster community partnerships, and ensure that all initiatives align with organizational goals and best practices in person-centered care.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the Residential Supervisors and Program Managers responsible for providing care and support to individuals receiving services.
  • Provide strong, value-based leadership aligned with our mission and vision to management and direct support staff, and various programs.
  • Develop and manage project budgets and monitor monthly financials to ensure financial targets are on track.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations.
  • Oversee Supported Living Service’s leaders in the development and implementation of individualized support plans that promote independence and enhance the quality of life for the people we support.
  • Manage the budget for Supported Living Service’s programs, ensuring cost-effective operations and monitoring monthly financials to ensure financial targets are on track.
  • Oversee periodic audits, inspections, and reviews to ensure the quality and safety of care and services.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, performance evaluations and professional development opportunities for Management.
  • Regularly review and adjust programs based on feedback from the people we support, families, and staff.
  • Oversee recruiting, training, and supervision for service staff, ensuring they adhere to policies, procedures and best practices.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with leadership, human resources and the finance team to support the department’s needs.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with families, guardians, and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in community workgroups and initiatives to contribute to overall community development and relationships.
  • Advocate for individuals with disabilities, ensuring their voices and preferences are heard and respected.
Pay range: $73,000 - $111,000 annually
Status: Exempt (Salaried)
Location: Chico, CA / Hybrid  

Position requirements:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work, Nursing, Psychology, or related field.
  • Previous experience in disability services, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably in residential or day service settings.
  • Knowledgeable of local, state and federal regulations related to disability services.
Open statewide but must be willing to relocate to Chico, California or surrounding areas. 
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Previous experience in residential services for individuals with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities.
  • Excellent computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Work, and Excel and software used in care planning and documentation.
Pre-employment requirements:
  • Ability to pass a Department of Justice (DOJ) and FBI background check.
  • Ability to pass a driving record check through the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). 
  • TB (Tuberculosis) Skin Test.
  • Physical examination.
  • Valid Drivers’ license required.
  • Safe and reliable transportation with current auto insurance.
