Mains’l 7th Street Centre for the Arts program focuses on creating engaging, fun, and crowd-pleasing performances for audiences and performers alike! At the Centre for the Arts, we encourage acting and theatre to promote self-expression in a failure-free environment.
As a Program Specialist at our 7th Street Centre, you will work with talented people with disabilities in a creative environment ensuing they feel supported, valued and engaged in meaningful activities. The Program Specialist also ensures a safe environment in addition to supporting with caregiving responsibilities and supervision support.
The ideal candidate would have artistic skills in fine art, music, and dramatic arts. Being a calm/ patient, self-motivated, highly social and attentive person will be key to the success of a Program Specialist working in this amazing position.
Statues: Part-time, 24 hours per week
Pay Rate: $17.00, $17.25 following the completion of 90 days of training
Schedule: Monday, Thursday, and Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM
There are days we take the students on field trips throughout the community. Must have a valid license and auto insurance as well as access to a vehicle and willing to drive the students as needed.

- Costuming
- Prop building
- Painting and building sets
- Participating in rehearsals, classes, and performances
Required skills, experience, and attributes:
- Experience working with diverse populations
- Ability to make decisions for the good of the students, program, and fellow team members
- Ability to work with limited to no supervision
- Ability to help plan events and activities
- Good team building skills and ability to work well with others
- Respond to crisis, following guidelines and plans
- Must be able to support individuals to reach their potential
- Effective communication skills including ability to write/document clearly
- Willing to offer and accept feedback
- Support students with personal care as needed
- Monitor safety of the individuals and the environment
- Must like to have fun!

Requirements:
- Ability to pass a background check through the Department of Justice
- Have a valid Driving License with reliable transportation and car insurance
- Pass a TB Skin test
