Mains’l has the privilege of offering person-centered support to individuals looking to gain job-based skills, independent living skills, and support with their college endeavors.  

What does the Support Coordinator do?  

As a Program Support Coordinator, you are a role model and mentor to employees using Mains’l Vision, Mission, and Values.  

This position allows you to work closely with the Program Manager, ensuring all aspects of the department are running smoothly. Your role is to provide support and leadership to staff and people we support while creating a fun learning environment. The Support Coordinator mentors students in collegiate, social, vocational, and independent living skills to adults who receive services through our College Plus program.  

Pay Rate: $19.00 per hour, $19.50 after 90 days and completion of training.  
Schedule: Monday – Friday 8 AM – 4:30 PM
Location: Chico, CA 

The selected candidates will possess the:  
  • Ability to act as a role model to program specialists, utilizing opportunities to engage in person-centered thinking skills and tools to provide excellent support. 
  • Skills in accurately documenting the progression of goals as required by supported persons. 
  • Ability to review Program Specialists’ documentation to ensure accuracy and inform the Program Manager when entries need attention.  
  • Capability to support and collaborate with people receiving services and teammates to work towards chosen goals and/or create new goals.  

Additional job requirements include:  
  • Organizational skills to manage rapid changes 
  • Critical thinking and quick problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to prioritize what is most important while multi-tasking 
  • Excellent customer service while maintaining a positive attitude 
  • Patience in coaching new skills to staff and students with limited experience 
  • Excellent communication skills including both oral and written (report writing) 
  • Support individuals with creating/editing PCD reports  
  • Ability to work independently with limited instruction 
  • Ability to work under pressure  
  • Knowledge of resources and willingness to create community partnerships 
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Office, Zoom, etc.)  
  • Having fun! 

Pre-employment requirements:  
  • Ability to pass a background check through the Department of Justice (DOJ).  
  • Safe and reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license and auto insurance.  
  • Ability to pass a driving record check.    
  • TB (Tuberculosis) Skin Test.

Pay Scale:  
Starting rate: $19.00 per hour ($19.50 after 90 days and completion of new hire training).  
Maximum Pay Rate: $20.50 per hour based on years of experience at Mains'l.
